About me

I am an aspiring robotics/ML engineer currently based in New York City. My passions and areas of specialty are machine learning, A.I., data science, and computer vision.

I am an immigrant and naturalized American originally from Hangzhou, China. I grew up in Irvine, California, and attended UCLA in Los Angeles for undergraduate studies in social sciences. Later I worked in a foreign policy think tank, a government criminal defense agency, and a TV news channel in Washington, DC. Afterwards, I moved to Tottori, Japan to teach English at a public junior high school.

My journey to the tech world began once I moved back to California and studied computer programming at City College of San Francisco. Then I studied robotics at NYU for my master degree in New York City, during which I proposed original research in neuromorphic computer vision based on event camera technology, and submitted the research paper to International Conference on Robotics and Automation.

I am fluent in major programming languages, common data processing libraries, and deep learning toolkits and frameworks. I am multilingual, a fast learner, a self-starter, and I bring unique perspectives from a myriad of experience.
